Bill, I'll surely agree with you about the education and work skills......not so much with the finances and time.....our time is limited because we still work and we work because of the need for finances! Most of our friends here in The Villages also work for that reason......however, it does make life that much more challenging, and much more dependent on trusting our God!!

78 million Boomers with more education, more work skills, more finances, and more time in a longer, healthier retirement........ We were the "baby boom" that caused the American church to create large children and youth ministries in the 50's and 60's. Are large "active older adult" ministries too much "out of the box" thinking for today's churches ? The opportunity is NOW for this generation. God, please send us leaders in our churches that see this unique opportunity for the Kingdom. The "ENCORE Army" is waiting to be mobilized.

Hi Chris,

My initial reaction is that "finish well" sounds too terminal. Finish strong makes me think of the oak tree that lives long and strong. Actually, instead of "finish" which is makes me think of being terminal - I'd rather see"live strong". While our bodies are mortal beings, we will continue to live strong just in a new environment with Christ - that's the glorious hope we have as believers. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Live Strong!

Morning Chris…
Since you asked: I told a wise woman Psychologist a year or so ago that I wanted to finish well… she interpreted that to mean “on top,” or “successful,” or “doing well.” I told her, “no, I just don’t want to mess up, stay to long, look like I’m just hanging on to a good thing.” So… I like “finish strong.” Either way, people, if they aren’t psychologists might figure it out!

Blessings,

Chris, I favor "finish strong". Paul talks about life as a race. Runners speak of the final "kick" that alows them to finish strong. I think the word well is too soft and not specific enough.
